About

Thanks for visiting!  This is a segue blog from my original one, www.bringtoboilcom — read here if you want to know more about me.

100 Days of Salad is dedicated to my one of my favorite food preparations.  I’m committed to eating and making beautiful and healthy food, and I’d like to share any cool ideas with you as well.

I enjoy creating salads that are either stand-alone beauties or ones that have a flavor conversation with the dishes they accompany.  You know, like wine pairings?  I like to make salad pairings.

Below is an excerpt from Bring to Boil that originated this salad/blog project:

“Salad is one of my favorite dishes.  It’s a pretty broad category, so there’s no shortage of possibilities there.  Especially when you do the weird thing that I’ve been doing lately with my salads.  Basically I make a dinner for Michael and Rosalie that would make them happy, then I mix a small serving of whatever is for dinner into a huge, crunchy, colorful salad.

Here’s the deal.   A vast expanse of plants on my plate can be fun for awhile, but it can become tedious, especially when the rich part of the meal (the enchilada, the baked potato, the pasta, the pizza) can just ruin the fun of salad by hanging out there being intense and delicious. I don’t want salad to ever become a chore.”

Since writing this post and launching 100 Days of Salad, I’ve begun what you might call a salad journey.  It’s gone beyond the original idea and I’m looking forward to continuing to explore the flavor possibilities found in a bowl of vegetables.  I wish you good health and delicious times!

What a lovely idea – and beautiful photos! I just discovered you from the International Food Blogger Conference blogroll. My old roommate practically eats nothing by salad, and I am excited to share your site with her.

    Look forward to reading more!

I wanted to stop by and say hello. I just found your site via the IFBC guest list, I, too, am attending. Anyhow, I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. Hopefully our paths will cross during the course of the weekend!
